How hard are year 7 assessment tests?

Just wondering if the assessments tests every term are very hard? How much revision should dc do? Any info would be appreciated

I imagine this depends entirely on the school.

The tests at my DC's school are to check how well they have understood the topic just covered, so they are not "hard" as such.
I suspect it varies widely how much revision is done - I think at my DC's school they usually assign 2 homework slots per subject - so about an hour. Obviously some will do more or less.

Depends on the levtthey are at, and whether they've kept up in class, I think? Both of mine just did revision as their normal homework. They're intended to be used as end of topic trackers to see if they've got it.
