Hello all,

What are your views about Camden School for Girls vs Grey Coat Hospital?

Also the above in comparison with Latymer grammar (which would require moving).

Advice of people familiar with the schools will be helpful as we do not know anyone at any of them.

Thank you!

Camden- very liberal, no uniform, really cramped site, lots of middle class but also a lot from local council estates. Most girls from Brecknock and torriano get in on distance. Quiet pressured academically with some subjects after school that fortismere can join in on if they make it there on time.
Grey coat- pretty much opposite from the above, very traditional and girls tend to travel quiet far eg knew someone travelling from Barnet
Latymer- the genius coed version of Camden, more liberal than the other north london grammars, a lot of kids from Stoke Newington, crouch end etc still v strict though. Loooads of homework. My friends y7 was doing 1.5-2hrs per night about 5 years ago, it might’ve changed now.

All those are pretty hard to get into, I would be amazed if you could get into all 3. If you like Camden I would say st Marylebone is a better suit if you are looking at central london church places, it’s a lot more relaxed and doesn’t feel so much like a finishing school. I don’t see how a girl that would love Camden would also love grey coat tbh. But I’m sure she’ll do great at any of them.
