Just wondering if any parents or teachers could help, please?
DS is in Year 11 and has come home from school today really upset. He had taken his workbook in today after half term to show his teacher the progress he has made. He worked every day during the holidays, and was really proud of what he’d done.
He said his teacher was really critical and said DS is way off the mark. His theme is light and dark and he has completed numerous pieces based on this. The teacher said the work is his book is disjointed and doesn’t flow.
DS said the teacher hasn’t provided much direction, no written guidance etc. DS was in tears telling me as he said he felt like a fool in front of his friends, and was embarrassed that he was excited to show the teacher only to be told that it’s no good. He said he feels a failure and is really worried that the time it will take to rectify will be so great that he won’t have time to revise for the rest of his mocks.
I’ve emailed the teacher and asked for a meeting, so that we can sort it out and that DH and I can understand what’s needed so we can support DS.
Is anyone any to help, please?
