The Judd school and travel

Trying to pick a grammar school for DS, fortunate to have passed kent and bexley but live in Bickley/chislehurst. Trying to decide between The Judd and chis and Sid. The only downside to Judd is the two trains required to get there. But by all accounts the bus to sidcup can be a nightmare. Does anyone have any experience of this or have children who do these commutes? Particularly interested in the Judd commute.
Thanks

You might be better posting this on the Kent section of the elevenplusexams website, as there's lots of really local knowledge on there.

Chislehurst to Sidcup isn't a massively long journey - maybe 40 minutes? I think there is one bus that goes all the way.. Lots of children travel longer than that for secondary. Two train journeys to Judd sounds more onerous but it seems like a great school. Don't forget, there will be days when they have to lug in school bag, sports kit and musical instruments!

St Olaves? Would be a very easy journey from Chis/Bickley.

Judd commute is straightforward and lots of boys do come from that direction. Make sure your son tries to do homework at lunchtime otherwise he will be in for lots of late nights.
However also consider the requirements of after school training and orchestras etc. Plus Saturday rugby...how much extra time will you lose as parents acting as a taxi for all of these extra times? Don't forget other commitments such as open evenings, parents evenings etc.
