Experiences of Tiffin Girls or Nonsuch

Hello there, I'm looking for your experiences/thoughts on Tiffin Girls and Nonsuch. We live in between them both and in catchment for both so need to decide in which order to rank them on the admission form.

I'm so torn I'm finding it very difficult to decide between the two. It's especially difficult when, in the case of Tiffin Girls, you cannot visit during the daytime as I've found that most important when visiting other schools and getting a feel.

Would welcome any experiences/thoughts! Many thanks :-)

Did your DD meet the eligibility criteria for both after doing the 11plus exams? If so congratulations! I have boys, but a good friends daughter has started at Nonsuch and both are very pleased with it. The general atmosphere, the lessons, the headmistress have all been mentioned very positively. No experience of Tiffin School.

Thanks what about The bob. She’s elegible to put both down on her form although until March 1 we don’t know where she ranks compared to others and thus if she will get a place at either. We have her score for nonsuch and are hopeful but nervous! Good to hear your friends daughter likes nonsuch.

I really can’t find out much from current parents at tiffin girls.

I have no input, I'd just like to say that I adore the juxtaposition of those two school names. It took me a google search to work out wtf you were banging on about :D

Stonesroses, you need to look at elevenplusexamsforum under Surrey region, there is a thread on the second page.

If she qualifies for both she has a good chance of getting into one, I would have thought. My son got into Sutton grammar despite being offered the local comprehensive on 1st March. He went onto the waiting list at no 27 and was offered a place in September.
From the 11 plus forum, the impression gained is Nonsuch might be a more “ rounded” school ( no homework at all in first half term of year 7, girls encouraged to develop extra curricular activities) whereas tiffin is very much about the academic side. Having said that, Nonsuch is still in the top 10 grammar schools by results, according to recent article I believe in the telegraph.

Teacakes that was my thread on 11+ but I only got a couple of replies and not much insight - I’m hearing more about Nonsuch. I haven’t encountered many tiffin parents to ask.
