I am in a really lucky position my DS has been offered places at Bluecoat, St Hilda’s and St M’s. I would like some advice on which to choose.

Blue coats has always had a good reputation and results.

I'm not too informed about the other two.

You must be very proud of him.

Good luck.

That’s what I’ve heard but I’d love to hear inside opinions from parents.

I've had one go Bluecoat and one to St Margarets. I'd recommend both! Bluecoat very academic but a bright enthusiastic child will thrive there. St Margaret more of a mixed ability, a very caring nurturing school and will push your child academically too. Blucoat mixed gender throughout, St Margarets only in 6th form if that makes a difference.. sorry probably doesn't help much! I'd probably say go for Bluecoat since he got in there. Thats not easy to do!

That’s great advice - thanks. Just worried about how he’ll cope with the pressure.

I had the same concerns but that school ended up being an amazing experience for him , he loved it, had a great group of friends and did really well there. You know your son best and how he works. Does he love a challenge, enjoy learning?

Yes he does. Is it very academic or is there a good balance? He loves art and practical subjects as well

Ds 1 went to Bluecoat throughout and had a great experience there. Ds2 went to St. Margaret's and found it quite a macho culture. Went to Bluecoat for 6th form and loved it.
