Hi, does anyone have kids at any of these weekly boarding schools? We are considering them as an alternative to traditional boys schools such as Whitgift, Trinity etc. They all sound fantastic on paper for their non-traditional style and get a big thumbs up from the Head at his current school. I've planned visits, but first-hand knowledge is better than anything. Are they good for smart kids who need a bit of a push and help with organisation or will they just let a laid-back drift?

My son weekly boards at Bede's and your description fit him to a tee. Since starting there last year he's improved academically by leaps and bounds - they have not let him slip through the cracks as happened at his former school, quite the opposite. He really loves boarding, but likes the fact he can come home on the weekends to relax a bit. Great school, we feel lucky to have found it.
