Hi there, having not given this school much thought I'm now going to see it next week as have heard some some really good things about it. Obviously the OFSTED isn't good but is also is some years old. Any views from anyone who has any experience of it would be great. Many thanks.

My DD is in Year 10 and loves it there. She's bright and engaged with all her subjects, particularly maths, geography and art. They've also encouraged a rather shy, sensitive little girl to blossom into an assertive young woman who isn't afraid to kick arse if she needs to.

The latest OFSTED isn't great, tbh, but I think the head is doing good things about behaviour and is trying to provide a properly rounded education. The maths and art depts are really good, and the school drama productions are quite legendary. I'm annoyed they've dropped the more advanced computing tuition, but at least they've managed to keep doing D&T subjects to GCSE level.

It's not perfect by any means, but it's a good community school. The teachers have always responded promptly to any concerns I may have, and they've always been reasonable.
