I am not a fan of independent schools as insulated life there not reflecting real world also we are not rich enough to consider that option. But as working parents we are seriously considering that option as extra facilities beyond school hours provided by independent schools. For example looks like by sending my DS to schools like Sherfield help me to be in full time job and may fund the school cost (~£15K/year) that way.
