Ideas for carrying musical instrument + school bag + sports kit

Ok, my year 7 dd has a 15/20 min walk from the train to the school and takes her sax one morning and brings it back another afternoon. I’m wondering how others manage this? We already have a lightweight case, but she struggles to have both bags on her back simulataneosly. If she carries one and puts the other on her back then her arms begin to ache and her back hurt as the weight is not evenly dispersed.
She keeps the weight of her school bag to a minimum, but it is still heavy. Im just wondering if there is a different strap I could buy that would make it easier for both items to be on her back - please tell me how your kids manage!!

My lad had this problem - in fact it was worse because he had cooking the same day as games, so he had his cooking stuff to carry as well as his rucksack, games kit and instrument. Quite ridiculous really, especially as the school had no lockers. No cloakroom either, so they also had to carry round their coats!

The sax is ESPECIALLY heavy, I have a heavy instrument so I feel her pain.
At school/uni I got a luggage trolley and I now have a backpack case (so less strain on one shoulder).

The backpack arrived today and she’s currently happy with it. Wheels aren’t obvious, handle can be zipped away when not in use. It’s bigger than her current bag so hopefully she’ll get all her stuff in including pe kit. The labels are off...so first try tomorrow!

I have a player of multiple brass instruments (not at some time obvs) and it has been known that one or more arte needed 3 times per week.

The euphonium is the really tricky one. We are on the bus route but sometimes waiting for one is too long winded, plus there are 2 possible routes of same bus number and school is only on one of them. We tend to walk part way and DS buses home or gets met depending on number of bags.

Be aware also that the cases wear out if carried about a lot.

When it's multiple bags inc PE bag then the PE bag goes in earlier in the week on a non music day and comes back on a non music day. PE ruck sacks works better than sports bag for us.

Our school also has instrument lockers available as well as regular school lockers. These are vital with large instruments. DS not a fan of using them overnight but they do come in handy if he is returning for evening concerts.

NB we are carfree

Oh, I just said buses for transporting brass instruments were 'long winded' LOL
