Can anyone recommend an intensive summer language course (French)?

Dd1 finds MFL difficult. She has just stated year 9 and so next summer will be the one before the start of a gcse course. She has expressed an interest in going for a week to France to learn the language. I know Intwnsive courses exist. Anyone able to recommend one?

Will watch with interest as my DD is in exactly the same position. She would hugely benefit from an immersive French course in France.

DD1 did a Spanish one after GCSE.
A few of points

• I think 1 week isn't really long enough and 2 weeks would be better
• You could do host family or on site summer camp, both have pros and cons
• At that age would you be staying nearby? DD1 got ill and we had difficulty finding out how bad she was etc.
• You really need to check on safeguarding / level of restrictions on the teens, and that you are happy with what they have in place.

Ooooh thank you. We could go and stay nearby as a family but it might not be as immersive if we spent time with her. She feels a little young for two weeks. But maybe I am being silly.

I used to work for this organisation. It's parent company is in Oxford and it is a tightly run place, safeguarding/foreign equivalent DBS/inspections from outside authorities etc. Host families all vetted.

Or try the British Council courses in France.

Two weeks would definitely be better than one, although once the so-called "affective dimension" hopefully kicks in (when a student wants to learn a language because they decide they like the place or the people) even a few days would have a massively positive effect.

PS When I worked for OISE students of any age 18 and under were only allowed out at night on their parents' written consent, and only until 10pm at the latest if consent was given.
