Preparing for entrance exams

Good morning,

I'm hoping someone can recommend some study books for my DD. We're moving from Australia to the UK next year and she'll be sitting a grammar school entrance exam for entry to Year 10 outside of the normal admission times as it'll be mid-year.

Are there any maths & english books I can buy to help her prepare for the test & the different syllabus?

The exams will vary from school to school so you might need to ask about specific schools.

Sleep I think the OP is looking for resources for year 10 entry not 11+.

At the superselective I work at in year admissions comprises an English paper - comprehension and creative writing, a one hour maths paper and a computerised nonverbal/verbal reasoning test that takes 45 minutes.

I would just look at the CGP maths book for KS3 to see whether you have covered everything and also if they have a year 9 entrance exam (old papers are usually online) that she can handle those.

Have you checked with the school? Some will do curriculum stuff such as science or languages? Are you prepared to say which school? Someone will know! (& of course, the CGP maths will almost certainly be useful).

Many schools will test everything for entry into yr10 - English, Maths, MFL, Science etc...
Have you chosen a specific school or just "aiming for grammar"?

Thank you everyone, I've checked with the school we're applying to and she would need to sit a maths paper and a conventional English paper which features reading and writing exercises.
