I am very proud of my Son...

My DS passed his GCSE's at grade 4/5/6. He is going to study BTEC level 3 at a Further Education College. If he works hard this will mean he can progress to University (if this is what he wants to do). He is a kind,
caring person - we are proud of him.
There must be lots of other DC's just like my son who are rarely mentioned on Mums Net because they do not achieve 7/8/9. All those young people going onto level 2/BTEC/A level with what Mums Net would consider very 'average' grades but with the potential of a very bright future.

I couldn't agree more. My husband and I went the BTEC route with very few GCSE passes, we're both well off and have thriving business of our own. My eldest did a BTEC (no degree) is in his early twenties and already earning nearly 50k a year. My youngest son who has just failed all his GCSE's is also doing a BTEC. Good exam results is absolutely no guarantee to a successful career. It's about your character and determination to succeed in life. I've know loads of people who have aced exams and have got absolutely no where in life. Your son has done very well.
