As the Tiffin deadline looms, is there a girls SW London grammars / indies thread yet?

I just realised that I need to get the Tiffin Girls form in ASAP, and wondered if anyone else is in the same position? I could do with company in this process!

We’re not yet decided but probably applying to Tiffin, WHS, SPGS, Sutton High and maybe one of PHS / Emanuel / KGS.

Yes we’re waiting for LEH tomorrow but not holding out much hope for a place as she found the interview quite tough. Also waiting for another which should come tomorrow. Good luck!

Hello, we just heard from our DD school for LEH ; they were already told yesterday... So if you d like you could ask yours...
It is the first positive result for our DD, so very happy! And for a school that is very high amongst her favourite. Good luck to all of you waiting.

Congrats to @1234Theresa! When is LEH our proper? Tomorrow? We didn’t try there. Next will be KGS. Does anyone know if that is posted on 14th or arrive on 14th? Anyone clearer yet on what they will choose?

This process just seems so long and drawn out now. We are waiting for Ibstock too and I think that is another week on top.

I think Ibstock, Harrodian and LEH all posted today for tomorrow.............
Then another week for SPGS, G&L and LU which arrive Friday 15th.
The wait then goes on for Tiffin ......

Bool - KGS says on the original timeline published by 14th and then in the email after the interview says posted on 14th. So I'm expecting it in the post on Friday. Hopefully!!!

I can imagine the relief, Another, end of uncertainty after WHS waitlist. Will you go for LEH, do you think?

And fingers crossed for littlemiss with LEH, too.

@TheExtraGuineaPig we are waiting for KGS too! My DS is there and it is a lovely school. Academic, sporty, music and drama. Kids seem well rounded too. Good luck for next week!!!!

littlemiss Didn’t you think she’d mucked up the interview or something? I vaguely remember you thinking LEH was unlikely to be an offer - I’m so glad you got one.

Bool From what people have posted, I think WHS has been the most unpredictable so far, but I suppose it makes sense since it’s the first year of their new system. On the other hand, looking at previous threads, it’s always been fairly common to get get one of PHS and WHS, but not both.

@FlumePlume you are right that WHS was a very different system. Which is on purpose to try and take tutoring out of the equation. What I did find odd was there was no 1-1 interview. Just observing them in a group situation.

Flume - she found the interview pretty hard and struggled with the IQ puzzles but obviously did the necessary for a place. We’re so proud we now have 3 offers to choose from (also waiting for Tiffin but she really didn’t enjoy the exam day so I’m not sure whether she would want to go there even if offered a place!). Some tough decisions to make....

littlemiss Nice position to be in - where are you deciding between?

Bool If WHS was designed to avoid tutoring, then I’m not sure it worked, based on what people have said on this thread. My dd really enjoyed the creative day, though, much less stressful than another exam.

LEH, SHS or St Catherine’s in Twickenham. I like them all for different reasons and dd isn’t sure on her favourite! Nice position to be in I agree.
