BTEC Results: Does anyone know what this means?

Dd is confused as her teacher predicted her a L2D, however when she asked another teacher today about the result shown below, she was told that it was a L2D? We was wondering why a '' is present and if she has been told correctly?

It’s a Level 2 D*, a D2 would be a distinction
