11 Plus Letter Codes

My son is due to take the CEM 11 plus in September and up until recently has been studying by himself with CGP workbooks.
He has just started with Explore Learning for the Summer Holidays and has come across “Letter Codes” which he has not seen before. Explore assure me this is in the CEM paper, but we can’t find it in the CGP workbooks.
Are Explore correct or is this something that just appears in the GL paper?

Codes are definitely in the 11 plus here in Lincs. Quite a big chunk i believe. I would say its imperative to know how to do them.

Check with the elevenplusexams forum as well. They'll have a section for your local area as well as sections on the different exams. A really helpful (if slightly intense) forum.

They are not in our CEM books either but the saying with CEM is anything can come up!

The thing with codes is once you know how to do them they are relatively straightforward as long as you keep calm and use the techniques in a logical way. So I would strongly advise learning them. It's not like some of the NVR which is impossible to teach if you just don't 'get it'.
