Hello All,
We are in the process of moving to HW. Our 14year old attends Herschell Grammar in Slough. Does anyone know if there is a Coach / Transport into Slough so we do not have to change his school?

Regards,

Worried Mum.

According to Google, the arriva service was withdrawn at the end of June. I don't beleive there are any options without several chances. I wouldn't imagine there will be any sort of school bus in that direction as HW has a grammar system and people are unlikely to want to travel for what they have on their doorstep. You could move to Marlow and have them do Marlow/Maidenhead/Slough on the train?
Hopefully someone may turn up.who knows more about these things

Hi OP, I think you would want Carousel Buses for your DS to get to Slough and it looks like you would take the 104.

However both me and my husband have done this temporarily for work (albeit on the old Arriva 74 service) and it is a long and miserable journey. Slough buses also run an X74 service between HW and Slough which is sometimes slightly quicker as it takes the motorway and misses out Beaconsfield. However if there are any passengers standing when it gets to the motorway junctions then it is not allowed onto the M40 and will also end up taking the scenic route.

To be honest, I can't imagine a school pupil coping well with doing the journey every day. It will also make the days very long and with very early starts.

The traffic in high wycombe is very bad. High wycombe has 3 excellent grammar schools including the Royal Grammar school which has some amazing facilities as it is well funded through donations of 'old boys'. Wycombe High and John Hampden also have amazing facilities - if you haven't already its worth checking these three schools out.
