Hi,
I've just moved back to the UK after many years abroad. My son has eczema and psoriasis on his toes which can only be controlled (according to dermatologist) by wearing leather shoes and using socks with silver in them...which of could need hand washing and can't go in the tumble drier. Sigh. I am used to this routine with the socks but have a question about the shoes.

Where can we get good quality black leather shoes in the UK? Suggestions for brands or shop names would be helpful. He's got big feet - European size 41 and he's only 11.

Thanks

Deichmann, Geox, Richter, Jones the bootmaker, Russell and Bromley, Clarks?

We've got Russell and Bromley and Clarks shops here. My DD has Clarks shoes, after two years wear they do look a bit scruffy and creased but they're still going strong.

I second Clarks shoes. I have never had any problems with them - both DCs (one of each) have always had them and they have always lasted until they have been outgrown. Regular polishing helps maintain their appearance.

All of the above plus Charles Clinkard and the large number of independent shoe shops.
