Will I get into Oxford Oversubscribed Schools?

I've just secured a job offer in Thame, great schools but they're all oversubscribed. I have 2 boys, 1 in yr 7 and another in Yr 3 so in need of both primary and secondary but finding a great secondary is my priority focus. I'm moving into the area so likely to rent until I find out where I want to be based permanently so where I choose is 100% based on getting in to great secondary school. In order to apply I think I need the address but what are the chances of securing a place in yr 7 if already oversubscribed? Appreciate any advice!

Sorry not very clear, Son is currently in Yr 7 but will be looking to get into Yr 8 in Sept.

Which school/s? Oxford city has a mobile population and places can come up...

Have you checked with the council on where places are available? Lord Williams is a big school and I'd be surprised if places didn't come up mid year.

You could also have a look at Wheatley Park - has had an up and down reputation over the years but appears to be in a good place at the moment. Wheatley is a nice village with a junction onto the M40 making travel to Thame very easy.

Other than that West Oxfordshire Henry Box, Wood Green, Bartholomews and Burford are all good but this isn't the right end of the county for easy commuting into Thame.

Sorry bit of above message got unaccountably deleted - should have read "West Oxfordshire probably has greatest concentration of good schools"
