Options choices for GCSEs......has your child got theirs yet?

We just got the letter through and ds got all of his choices.

He will be doing

English
Maths
Science
Citizenship
Computer sc
Media
Business
Timbers

He will be very pleased when he finds out. 🎈🎉🎊

I’m thinking woodwork......

My two in Y9 both have to do core subjects:
Maths
English Language
English Literature
Science (combined or triple decided by the school)

DS3 got the options he wanted and has already started the GCSE courses:
German
History
Computer Science
Religious Studies

DD hasn't yet had final confirmation but is hoping for:
Latin
Geography
Classical Civilisation
Art (Graphics)

DS1 is coming to the end of Year 8 and has got what he wanted. he's doing:
English
Maths
Science (double for year 9 and then hopefully triple in Year 10)
Spanish
Geography
PE
Media Studies

DD found out last month that she has got what she wanted

RE ( fastrack - outside of lesson time) - can be dropped if too much as 10th GCSE , school standard is 9 now

She is going to be busy for the next 2 years.

Not heard yet re triple science. He has to have done well enough in the EOY test. Sure he will though!

DS2 in Y9 but we haven't yet heard about options. Fingers crossed he will get his top 3 choices and will be doing

Got History, DT and Music plus Statistics - managed to swap DT for Triple Science

School changed the goalposts - no EBacc - luckily my DD is OK with it all

DD currently on:

PE
but after end of term results, might try to swap Geography for Latin and RS for Spanish.

Some tricky conversations with school coming up, I fear...

DS2 got the letter yesterday!! And has his three first choices. Phew! The letter says "if your option choice says see Mrs Xyz then please ask your parent to make an appointment with School to discuss". I would be beyond cross if this had applied to us, as they only have 4 full days left in school this term (next week is all out of school activities)
