Thoughts on Harris Academy Greenwich, Eltham Hill School & Thomas Tallis

We're moving to the Lee/Eltham area later in the year after three years abroad. DD1 will go into Year 7. Harris Academy Greenwich, Eltham Hill School & Thomas Tallis will all be near. We'll look around all the local schools on our return, but would be interested to hear from anyone whose DCs attend/have attended any of them in the meantime. In reality, she'll be offered the nearest school with a place (so very likely it won't be any of these - we can then reapply for a transfer and go on waiting lists).

They have all been revamped in recent years and by and large all do very well. I’m ashamed to say it but Thomas Tallis got more students into Oxbridge than the Grammar I teach at, recently!
I don’t think you would have any issues at any of those schools. There is another that might be near you - used to be Corelli College and now Halley Academy just a few months ago so don’t really know much about the changes.

Thanks KittyVonCatsington. Will check out Halley Academy. Also heard a new academy opening, Leigh Blackheath Academy, but might be too far.

Don’t know about Eltham, but there’s good basketball clubs based at the other two.

It might be worth checking out the Greenwich Free School.
