Synoptic assessment levels

Hi, my child has recently had her year 7 school report, but I’ve no idea what the synoptic levels mean. Can anyone help me understand? Thanks!

Probably not. The government scrapped levels and schools were asked to make up their own systems for measuring progress so they’re now all doing their own thing. They could be using GCSE grades (useless in Y7) or their own made-up system (most likely also useless).

There should be a letter attached to the report explaining the grades. If not, contact the school and ask.
