This school featured in an ITV documentary two years ago - 'School Swap: A Class Divide' - have you seen it? Came across as a very pleasant, friendly environment, but not a particularly academic school.

I was very keen on warminster 5 years ago, mainly because the Head (now gone) said all the right things re education being more than exams, boys being individuals, pastoral care etc etc. But I visited several times and I just couldn't see that in action and I didn't feel it suited my DS. That said, it had good facilities, was traditional, seemed quite hot on academics (although results aren't great), lots of homework each night and clubs meant a long school day, plus Saturdays. For a sporty, averagely academic, robust boy I think it would be a good fit.
