We are looking at Burford School amongst others at the moment for my son, going into GCSE. He is very into Drama, he wants to follow this path through to performing arts school, and so we are looking for any comments anyone may have on the Drama department at Burford School.
Thank you in advance

Its a very good department. My DC wasn't naturally gifted at drama. But she had an interest in it and the whole gcse course really helped her develop confidence. The teachers are very supportive and the content was interesting.

The school in general is a very good one and I'd recommend anyone to go and have a look around to get a feel for the place.

The drama department is excellent, as is the music. I know many people who have chosen Burford purely because of the quality of its performing arts. The quality of the arts altogether at Burford is fantastic – it is one of very few secondary schools in the country to have the Platinum Arts Mark, and arts and culture are integral to the life of the school. So if your son is interested in the performing arts, it is definitely a school to look at.

Thank you both. We have really liked the look of the school and it was originally recommended also by an acquaintance, although they couldn’t tell us much about the performing arts side. I had seen the notice of the Artsmark away which was fabulous.
We hope to visit in the next few weeks, although even with what it looks like on paper and a visit it’s still so helpful to have some info from current or past parents.
