Distance wise dds would definitely get in but what's it like? I know it had an outstanding all round ofsted. The large class sizes bother me, is it 30+ in each class? Or are there smaller classes for core subjects? Dds only have 15 in their classes at the moment. Is Tolworth setted? How many per year group?

Sorry for all the questions but would love to know.

I'm sure that is the case, but op wrote "240 girls is massive though ShockThere's 45 in dd1's year group and 24 in dd2's" so may not have realised independent schools can be pretty big too.

Yes 360 in Ds1 year 7, 12 forms x 30 DC. Think there was about 367.
Ds2 has 10 forms. Each year is split into populations A and B.
It is a semi rural comprehensive, built as local secondary modern in 1950's. It is on 3 acre site, village primary school is next door, it has 10 catchment primaries.
Ofsted do state that it is an unusually large school. The 2500 is just years 7-11, another 250-350 in its sixth form.

3 acres is bout 110m x110m if it were a square, or about 2 full size rugby pitches side by side as that makes it easier to visualise, for 2800 pupils and then staff as well. I'm staggered by that. Ah well, it must work for them!

Just realised missed zero off size. Well phone did. It site is about 30 acrces shared with primary. Built in the early 1950's. Much of it's lower school is still the original buildings.
Sorry should proof read posts.
It has 4 football pitches, 3 rugby pitches, cricket square. Swimming pool and 3g pitch. Plus 2 indoor sports halls, plus 9 tennis courts.
State schools can prove decent sports too
