Do appeal results affect waiting list?

Just wondering, if say 2 children are successful in their Appeals for a secondary school place, would the waiting list be "put on hold" until numbers return to PAN by children leaving/declining a place they had previously agreed to? Or will the school have to stay as PAN+2 for that year?

The waiting list would in a way be put on hold. The year would run at PAN plus the two admitted but they won't accept anymore into the year unless you won a successful appeal or the current year intake dropped below the published pan through leaving or declined places.

Thanks, I thought that would be the case. We'll just have to see where we stand in June after the appeals have all been decided (not holding out much hope for our appeal www.mumsnet.com/emo/te/3.gif.pagespeed.ce.ohOMRL_vp7.gif).

Waiting lists do not always run to PAN anyway. We are above PAN in every year group but still taking more children in from the waiting list if we feels it's manageable. So in answer to your question, yes and no! Taking more through appeal may slow down or stop intake from the waiting list, but not necessarily.
