Hi. Does anyone has any info about Queens School in Bushey? Will send my child there from September and not sure what to expect. Unfortunatelly we couldn't make it for open days and now panicking.

A few of DS1's friends go there.
It's a big school, on two sites, linked by an underpass.
What specific things are you worried about?

I live in Bushey and my nephew goes there. It has a good reputation. They staff have been very supportive with my nephew who is quite complicated.

I would be happy for my son to go there but I didn’t want him to sit the 11+ so he is going to our feeder school.

Perhaps they’d let you come for a look around after the holidays.

Most of the consortium schools hold a taster afternoon in July, when the Y6s all go and visit their new secondary school. It's on the 12th July this year. Hopefully Queens will take part.

The underpass scares me, is it safe? Like no one really can see what is going on there. Are the children walking often under it during day? Is it very strict school? I've read some reviews on google and they were scarry ones. Like if you late one second you get detention etc. It is sport's school but are they pushing kids a lot to excercise? Are the teachers welcoming and suportive? And are they dealling with bullying well? My girl is very quiet one not always asking for help when somethings happens.

I don't know the school but i looked up the google reviews and many of the reviews look like they were written by the same person to discredit the school. The word "shitest" comes up in a lot of them and lots of the same things written again and again.

LimeIce · 31/03/2018 08:51

It could be a student who's badly behaved and gets into trouble a lot trying to get revenge?

I live fairly locally, and I've never heard a bad word against it, to be honest. I wouldn't pay any attention at all to Google reviews.

The Ofsted report looks okay reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/ELS/136877

Thank You all for the messages. I am much calmer now. I was starting really freaking out. But seems instead of stressing I should be happy my girl got accepted there.

It's a lot better than a lot of the alternatives! Are you on the waiting list for anywhere else? I would be happy with it.

Hello OP. Have sent you a PM

HangingRock · 31/03/2018 23:18

I had a look at the google reviews for dd's school (not queens school) and it said the teachers bully the kids. Dd has been there 2.5 years and has noticed nothing of the sort. Grin So I'd not take too much notice of the google reviews
