Do your DD/DS have to STAND UP for assembley? or do they have chairs or benches?

It seems weird to see teenagers sit on the floor in a gym like they do at WELLS school.

At my comp school we sat in hall on chairs

At DS school they sit on chairs.

What about your DS/DD?

I took loads of assemblies in lots of schools as a guest speaker/youth worker in my pre ds/dd days. Every secondary I went to apart from one had seats for the kids. The one that made them sit on the floor - even at 18 - was an all girls boarding school.

I have taught in 2 schools,one they sat through the assembly and the other they stood as there were no chairs in the assembly hall

It just looks so weird to see them standing or sitting on the floor

Our kids stand - never lasts more than about 12-15 mins though, and usually around 10.

When I was at comp only Y11 upwards sat on chairs. Sixth form on the balcony. Fith year sat on chairs at back of hall. rest of school sat on floor.

At both of the secondary schools I have taught at all but sixth formers sat ont he floor.

DD is only primary age. They sit on the floor.

DS is year 7 {private school} and the whole school sit on chairs but their assembley last about 15 - 20 mins with speakers and hymn etc.

When he was in primary they all sat on the floor

Our secondary sit on chairs.

11-16 all sit on the floor. Rarely longer than 12 mins though.
