I'm hoping to get some feedback from parents who have a daughter at Parmiter's on what they feel are the pro's & con's of Parmiter's for their daughters.

The girls I know/went to Parmiters are all happy with it.

I guess it depends what you're looking for in a school, and what your options are. I think all of the Consortium Schools are good, it really depends on whether you can get in.

DS1 has a few female friends who go to Parmiter's and I have an acquaintance who teaches there. I've heard only good things about it.

Thanks to both of you that have responded so far, it's helpful to hear this.

hi,
my daughter has just left parmiters however there were several issues that she occurred when at the school. one of these was the fact that she was not allowed to wear trousers, not only do i think this is very old fashioned it was particularly inappropriate in the winter months. from what my daughter has told me that there where a lot of unhappy girls in her year, this may just be down to puberty and hormonal reasons however she told me that some areas of the school made it worse such as teacher singling out individuals and the lack of means to express themselves in school

hope this helps

Hi, to anyone reading this thread, we decided Parmiter's would be a good fit for our daughter. She is now at the end of Y7 and we could not be happier with our choice, she has really enjoyed her first year there & the transition from junior to senior school was very well handled. So to answer my own question - Yes, Parmiter's is a good school for girls, not just academically and for sport, but also in the way that girls are encouraged to believe in themselves & their ability.
