Books for teens

I'm seeking book recommendations which my dc will enjoy 13&14 to help expand their vocabulary and engagement in reading

Well my 13yo hasn't been that engaged in reading, but since the start of half term she has read the 4 books from the 'Divergent' series and is now just completing The Hunger Games.

But this being MN, you may now reply to say they read them age 9.

I second the hunger games. Ds 13 can't put it down (neither could I) .
If they are reluctant readers then diary of a wimpy kid or tom gates.
Ds read top secret series by Robert muchamore (both girls and boys in his class seem to enjoy the series)
