Emsworth is nice but don’t kno w it’s that good for secondary schools, Petersfield is also nice. Right move Is a property site that also tells you about local schools. Contact Hampshire county council re schools www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/admissions/applicationprocess/inyear

'government' schools are referred to here as State Schools.

Academic year runs 1st Sept - 31st August.

You go to secondary school for the academic year you turn 12. So your younger child would be at a Primary (4-11) or a Junior (7-11) school to start with.

The Hants link shows you have to be ready to start within 4 weeks, or you can apply from 11 June for a Sept start. If your eldest turns 12 after 1st Sept they will be going in to year 7 which is the first year of secondary.

I'm in Hants but not near enough to you to know anything about the schools you would be looking at.
