Westminster School 13+

We would be really grateful if anyone could share their experiences of the Westminster Waiting List as I'm given to understand it works slightly differently to other schools.

We were told that there are approx. 30 boys who have been placed on this list, but are keen to understand by how much Westminster over offer for their 120 places? And, whether they regularly promote boys to conditional offers? (Appreciate this can be a long process with the deposit of a term's fees not due until the September before starting).

Any gems of wisdom or advice would be really appreciated. Thank you so much.

I know two boys who have moved off the waiting list. I don’t know how much they over-offer but places are definitely released - eg from our prep school (the under school) generally 8-10 boys go to eton each year and they mostly all have W places too, generally only releasing them over the summer of year 7 if not later. Presumably similar changes must happen elsewhere. Good luck.

Huge thanks @Michaelahpurple Great to hear that the List does move at the end of Year 7/beginning of Year 8, presumably when the deposit is required. We don't want to become fixated on it so will happily accept our other offer, but still keep everything crossed for next year. Thank you again for replying.

I am in the same situation this year for 2022 entry, my son is on the waitlist. Did your DS get off the waitlist and move on to the main list ?
