Secondary school waiting list

Hi mums
We have been given a school from Barnet LA which is 4th in our list. What is the likelihood to get a slot from the waiting list of Wren and St Andrew the Aposthole mid April? Do you know if St Michael Catholic waiting list is moving? Or you think we better accept a super expensive private school we have been offered. This process is painful. I really do not want to go private.

I have a son in year 4 and starting to look at schools. Any suggestions to prepare for Latymer? Is it so hard to get in as they say?
