Rejecting a school place

Hi, does anyone know if there is a cut off for Rejecting a school place once accepted. If I accept the place, could I call up admissions on the 31st of August and reject it? TIA

State school place? No cut off. You could just not turn up.

However if you are definitely going private instead then it would be a bit inconsiderate to leave it that late.

Thanks for the info. I totally agree that people need to know and I wouldn't withhold the space on a whim. It's a complicated home ed/SEND/school place/virtual school provision situation combined with heavily over subscribed school places. If the LEA had their own solution it would be a different matter but we are having to navigate our own path currently.
