Kingswood or KES Bath

Name changed for this.
DD has been offered a place at each school( with academic scholarships at both) She's reasonably musical, reasonably sporty. I'm going round in circles trying to decide. My heart says one school, my head the other. Does anyone have any insights for me?!

Have heard great things about KES, my friends DC goes there and is very happy.

Both are great schools. KES slightly more academic I would say, but really nothing much in it. I love Kingswood and the whole campus style of the school - obviously has some benefits of boarding of you ever need it.
My head would say KES, my heart would say Kingswood! Which did your DD prefer? I would choose the one she thinks she'll feel happiest in! I should think they'll both provide her with very similar opportunities.

She wants to go to KES. We live Kingswood side of Bath & my head says boarding/ long school day would make life much easier( I work outside Bath too)

From experience KES is fantastic and her wanting to go there is key but you have to be able to make it work logistically I agree. FWIW in my road on the KW side 6 kids go to KES and 4 more have left in recent years. People live all over and make it work.

It depends on her age - easier if they are of age where walking/buses is an option.

We are in a village to the north that has a bus home but not in the morning any more. I think we can make it work with combination of lift sharing, buses, my days off but it's just an extra layer of complication...

She will be just 11.

We picked KES. Have not regretted it at all. Hope your DD will be very happy there.

Great choice! I am pleased for you and hope she'll be very happy too. It's a wonderful school.
