Emanuel, Battersea

Does anyone have any thoughts on Emanuel in Battersea, particularly since the new head arrived? We've moved to the area recently and are starting to think about schools for ds in 2020. Which seems ages away but I realise will come round really quickly. As we are close to Clapham Junction he could easily get to Trinity or Whitgift, and that was what we'd assumed we'd go for, but we've heard good reports about the new head and reports that it's improving rapidly. ds is a quite little chap, who really loves reading and maths. He's not very sporty but enjoys drawing and singing and loves building things and coding. So we are looking for a school that will really inspire him to do his best - he's not a genius by any stretch of the imagination but with a bit of inspiration he does very well - and that is good for music and for design technology as well.

There is a whole recent thread on Emanuel which you should probably read.

However based on my experience, for most people, the independent London schools choose the pupil, not the other way round. So I would keep an open mind and probably apply to all of the schools within easy commuting distance.
