Hi there

Struggling to understand what "means tested" bursary means - we are applying for our DD ( we would need full whack) DD is very keen and academic. However I know of many people in my area who live in very big houses and have very extravagant lifestyles who apply for bursaries every year and get them - I thought that bursaries were for people who can't afford full fees and that assets etc were meant to be taken into account?

There are a couple of other threads on here regarding this. They are means tested and should take into account value of property, car, overseas homes etc, these are seen as assets. The amount offered would differ from school to school, some will offer full fees and others up to a certain percentage.
