G&L and LU Wait lists

DD is waitlisted for both of our top choices of schools. We live just around the corner from Latymer and it would be so easy from a commuting perspective and a great school all round. We’re very lucky in that she received three other offers and a scholarship from NH&E, but her heart was set on a Hammersmith school 😫. Any ideas of how many children get through on the wait list at either of these schools?

I think you have to pay extra for the late bus on top of the normal bus. It may not be a problem, but worth checking out to avoid any surprises when it come to paying the bill!

I know that last year LUS over offered and did not go to wait list because they had to add an extra form just to accomodate the offers they had made. However, maybe they will have compensated for that this year by under offering. You never know.

My DD has offers at both so will turn down one, probably G&L, but we are struggling to decide. I know others in our situation so maybe that will result in movement on the wait lists.

MY DD Also got offers from both schools and we are rejecting both of them so there should be some movement. Fingers crossed

We also know quite a few children giving up their places.... the wait is killer. I've called both schools, followed up with emails saying how eager we are, etc, etc. Now just waiting for everyone to get back from their skiing holidays.

Don’t give up hope - i know several families with multiple offers, and my daughter has both of them too and are aren’t taking them.
Our school told us that nothing happens during halfterm, and we are away like everyone else...
So - will be informing the schools on Monday.

No, but G&L emailed today asking offer holders to please let them know as soon as possible if they are taking the space .

I think many families will decide after visiting the schools again. My DD has a friend with offers at many schools (including Latymer and G&L). She is not planning to take either but is visiting each school again to be sure. They hope to let schools know on Friday or Monday.

Thanks for the update LondonUSAmum! Just after I posted this, I received an email from G&L saying there was no movement yet and they hadn’t even ranked the wait list. More waiting...

I have given up the offers to both schools yesterday; and so have a few of our friends.
And a few more are doing the open days this week.
So - yes - i’d think - by end of the week / early next week - there must be more clarity.

G&L have gone to waitlist. Good luck to all those waiting.
