Anyone with a daughter at Nottingham High School?

Hi all, my daughter has been offered a place at Nottingham Girls School and also the High School. My DH is keen for her to go to the High School as they have great results and are co-ed. I am a bit more on the fence as while the High School looks great I'm concerned that there are so few girls there as yet. Does anyone have a daughter there already or are considering sending her there? She would be going into year 7 in September 2018. Any info would be really appreciated.

NHS is still in the process of going fully co-ed. The results at NHS have undoubtedly improved since the arrival of girls, however it is noticeable that not many girls' parents took the decision to move their daughters from the neighbouring Nottingham Girls' High School. The ongoing excellent results at NGHS are indicative of the ongoing place for an all girls' school - it does not need to admit boys to improve or maintain its results.

The Head at NGHS Julie Keller is outstanding, as it her SMT. They have a strong vision around the education of girls and the recently opened theatre within the school grounds and also the redevelopment of Grassington Rd will once again put clear water between NGHS and NHS, where the facilities for girls are still somewhat behind.

Both schools are excellent, congratulations to your daughter on being offered a place at both.
