DD is 11 and in year 7. She has dyslexia and is a very slow writer and now needs a laptop/notebook so she can use it in class and establish that as her usual way of working.
I am looking for advice. Do I get a chromebook, or an iPad with a keypad or is there something else out there suitable.
Thanks

Have teachers agreed that using a laptop in class is appropriate?
If so, I’d expect the school to provide a laptop.

There are complications though, many teachers will want the work to printed off to be marked, possibly stuck into an exercise book as well.

Is daughter proficient with typing accuracy and speed?

PS, I’d go for chrome book. Somehow they manage without a proper keypad.

Hi BlueBonnie
School have suggested she uses one especially when she has to write out extended answers however there isn't the money to provide a lap top. She can print off at the library.
I have the Mavis Beacon app so she is learning to touch type.
