How did it go for your DC? My DD is finding the year in general quite stressful with lots of interventions being held. Her mocks were before Christmas somthings has settled down slightly now - the lull before the storm!

DD is still reeling from the math & physics mocks. Says they were quite brutal.

She is satisfied with her results but wants to improve the math if possible. I'm pleased she's been so relaxed this time, tbh, was very overwrought about mocks in yr9 & yr10. That said, I'm bracing for the real exam season in May-June. Suspect DD may be slightly crazy most of that time.

We always celebrate end of exam season with take-away pizza or something like that. I don't care much about the results day, but end of exam season is end of an ordeal for all.

My DD has another 2 weeks of mocks as they only started last week. She’s coped well, but is exhausted. The content in some of them has been a shock and she’s very apprehensive about the amount of work ahead. They will receive the results in an official assembly at the end of February, before parents evening to discuss the way forward.

My job is to help her manage her health conditions, issue hugs and make cups of tea. I assist with revision when asked.

I am dreading the next 6 months!

It's been a bit of a learning curve as to the lay out of the exam papers for us and she made a few mistakes in not reading questions properly. She has some official exam board mocks coming up for science before and after the half term so she will be concentrating on those for the time being. I'm also dreading the next 6 months. What I'm finding is that she cannot gauge at all how she has done whereas my eldest always could. I think it's the new system as opposed to different children. She can come out of a mock feeling like there was a fair amount she couldn't answer, yet still get a 7!
