Stowe admissions

Bit random and not very Christmassy, but please could anyone whose DC have got into Stowe tell me how long it took after pre test/interview to be told yea or nay? Suffering from not-so-slight fear that DS hasn't got into ANY secondary school whatsoever, as yet......

Surely prep should be able to tell you this?

When did he take pre -test and do interview? And who was he interviewed by? Is he applying for 2019 or 2020? It took ages for us to hear but think it varies. I would call and ask - they are very used to people chasing. Or you could ask your Director of Studies to call on your behalf if you feel uncomfortable.

TBH, we have already had experience of secondaries writing directly before prep school mentioned whether or not DC had got into a ssenior school, in years past. Also had letter from ano senior school during these hols. Obv, I can't bother any prep teachers on 28 dec so idly wondered whether any mnetters had experience of how long this school's decision making tends to take....think am trying to stave off panic and give myself some illusion of control !

2019 and during , thanx, toobusy...i will bite the bullet and chase in Jan, just fretting as per my previous reply and thinking that no news must be bad news! But I appreciate you and suits4women replying, anyway....
Senior school admissons seem horribly competitive and daunting these days...

We didn’t hear for about 6 weeks but we had a slightly different admissions process so unfortunately don’t know if that was normal or not. Sorry can’t be if more help. Fingers crossed for you and ds though

The wait is long and tedious for all schools, so iunderstand you being anxious. But Inspite of how long it seems, you’vealready done most of the waiting, schools will resume pretty soon. Also sorry to go on, but did Stowe not mention when you might here after the Pre test? Most usually say?

TBH, I didn't ask how long we.might expect to wait - DS had never before been interviewed in his parents' presence and gave a good impression of being selectively mute and I was in a hurry to leave! And prior rejections have left me anxious for. this outcome but thanx both for the comfort and fingers crossed !

Are you waiting on other schools? It helps if you have other backup options, although I dont think it is terribly selective, I think even the pre testing is a new thing, it used to be just CE 50%. It’s perhaps why they have a ‘chat’ /informal interview with parents present.
