Anyone taking 11+ exams in the Manchester or Cheshire area?

I have a DD taking 11+ exams at Manchester High, Cheadle Hulme and Stockport Grammar this January. This process is all new to us and although DD is bright she’s had no interest in prepping for these tests despite wanting to go. We live in Bramhall and our secondary school isn’t great at the moment so I’m keen for her to pass one. We’re closest to Stockport but if she gets offers it will be her choice.
I thought this thread could be hand holding over the next few weeks and also hoping someone knows more than me. Grin
Does anyone know if the schools can see whether she’s been offered the other schools iyswim? And whether the other schools have offered her the music scholarship she’s applied for? Thanks

Those three school are in a consortium and offer letters are sent out from each school at exactly the same time - very early March, if I remember correctly. With your acceptance or refusal required for all consortium schools simultaneously - so you can’t accept 2 places for example. So no, they won’t know who has offered your DD a place or who hasn’t but may hazard a guess depending on her results in their entrance exam. They will know which schools she’s sat for as there’s often a question on the application form about where else you are applying (if I remember rightly WGS didn’t ask this but MHSG, SGS & CHS did)Both SGS & CHS told us at interview that DD would likely be offered all her ‘choices’ and hoped we’d consider their school regardless. they didn’t ‘know’ per se but could probably guess by her exam results etc. If she’s not at a prep or ever done a practice paper it’s an idea over Xmas to do some Bond and also ask the schools she’s applied to to send you a couple of past papers for her to have a go at so it’s at least a bit familiar. Good luck!

Thank you, Kimlek. So it would seem that if she gets more than one offer we’ll need to make a quick decision. I presume any offer letter will also include a yes/no on the music scholarship?
Does anyone know how soon we hear about interviews? I think CH and Stockport said they interview lots of applicants whereas I got the impression that MH will make lots of offers without interviewing but then interview a small number. It’s such a minefield.

Just bumping this to see if anyone else is taking 11+ exams this Jan. Esp interested to hear from other parents whose children are currently at state primaries as I feel a bit out of my depth.
