I would like to know which one is better for a boy who will be doing A Levels, Science and is really ambitious in getting into a top university?
Thank you very much!

You normally have both, to cover exeats, short breaks and sickness, and give permission in lieu of own family. Although most guardian families do not offer full time care I guess that is possible.

If the school offers boarding, then you might find they are not happy for a boy to live out (other than with immediate family). Boarders can stay in for exeats, or make arrangements to stay with their friends' families. Minor illnesses can stay in school too, because there will be proper nursing care in a health centre.

They will require some sort of UK guardian as well. Even with vastly better means of communication to overseas parents, they'll want someone more on the spot just in case.
