What is differences between loc rating and direct.gov website

Can any 1 tell me the difference between the loc rating and direct.gov website.which 1 to follow for choosing school.

The information on direct.gov is based on exam results. Locrating also looks at the school's Ofsted rating, parent's views and other factors.
