my daughter left her previous secondary due to some horrible bullying from a group of girls - it reached the point were my daughter's friends refused to speak to her as they would become a target and my daughter refused to go outside at all, fearing she'd bump into them.

we've found a new school for her and she's completed some tests, bought the uniform and was really excited to start school. i had to complete some forms and there was a question asking if she had been excluded before - she's been excluded 3 times due to her defending herself from the girls, and then getting beaten up. she did fight back which lead to those exclusions.

the school didn't really mind but when we came home i got a call telling me she wasn't allowed to start the next day as they had to confirm she left the previous school because of bullying and not because she was kicked out. i was bit annoyed but i agreed and they proceeded to speak to the old headteacher - she decided to tell the new school that my daughter hadn't left because of bullying but instead, she had left because she fell out with her friends.

my daughter was beaten up to the point where she couldn't go to a school for a week, she had to go to hospital - i have proof of everything and the headteacher knows the bullying happened so i don't understand why she's lying? the new school now thinks i've lied about why she left and has told me to not bring her in until they've further discussed the matter.

what do i do???

Provide the "proof of everything" to the new school?

I can't see any value in engaging with the old school.
Hope you get it sorted out quickly.

Maybe the former HT doesn't want the bullying on record. Far easier to say otherwise.

Agree that you should bypass them and get your evidence. God, bullying is vile enough without having to prove it.

I'm sorry your DD went through all that horror. Flowers
