How often do secondaries get offsteded?

Just wondering...long way off for me but have been looking at a few websites, and one of the schools locally has its last report 2002. I know for a fact there have been problems at the school in the last couple of years (v good head left to problem solve elsewhere), and that there are real bullying issues. Other schools in my area all seem to have been done in the last 2 years....Does the fact the school i am thinking off will be closing in 2010 and merging with another in a new building impact on whether offsted attend or not?

the rule of thumb i think is no more than every 5 yrs so they are due one if they haven't just had one and the report is not yet on the dfes website. the system is also changing.

now the inspectors can go in with only 2 days notice and do just one dept. our geog. dept was ofstedded this way last nov.

because we are a specialist college up for status renewal next year, we also expect that the specialist dept (mine) will get an inspection in the summer term.

THanks for that, this is a specialist school too. Will wait to see if anything is updated.
