DD has just been told there's a reasoning test tomorrow which will be used to predict her attainment. How can she prepare?? I know she's weaker in verbal reasoning and vocabulary!!

She's not supposed to prepare!

Don't prepare.

I'm not a fan of using cats to predict gcse grades (Dd has been predicted 5's & 6's when in reality she has a Mensa level IQ & should get 7's & 8's

I do like them for how they show strengths & weaknesses in different areas. In dd's case her score for one area was through the roof but in a different area just average. This led to investigations & the eventual diagnoses of a specific learning difficulty.

Isn't the whole point not to prepare? Otherwise they will over predict & everyone will be disappointed

What she needs is for you to calm down so she can get a good sleep tonight.

Y10 predictions aren’t important - it’s not like A level predictions being used to choose universities.
