DS new to Y7. School have a points system. Strange question but how many points should he be getting to be "on track"?

Depends on the school ... no way any can tell you!

Ask the school.

It isn't a standard thing.

When you say points system do you mean the new 9-1 system?

JoJoSM2 · 28/09/2017 16:58

Or are you talking about behaviour points?

scrabble1 · 29/09/2017 09:33

Points which are awarded for working well in class and any negatives for behaviour

That sounds very school specific.

The DC's school has a points system. It's quite possible to go the whole year without getting any points. That doesn't mean you're doing badly. Might well be different for you.

You need to speak to a member of staff (or possibly parent of an older child) to find out how it works at your school

My youngest daughter's school had a points system - after 5 years I could not tell you how they gained points or what they were for (apart from a total in Year 11 for attendance at the prom). Every so often I would get a letter saying she had been awarded extra points - on being congratulated her reply was, no big deal as everyone got one!
