Just thinking about revenue funding here, not capital.... bearing in mind these new annexes are supposed to be expansions of existing schools rather than new ones.
Will the new grammar school annexes have their revenue funding determined in exactly the same way as other split site schools, i.e. via the locally determined funding allocation to split sites?
And do they get centrally allocated "start up funding" for the first 3 years, like new schools do, to cover diseconomies of scale as they're filling up from Y7 onwards.
Does anyone know if the new proposed national funding formula has central provision for split site schools or whether it will still be locally determined?
Is there anything to stop other successful secondaries "expanding" in the same way?
(I'm not interested in the rights and wrongs of it because that's been done to death elsewhere - I'm just interested in the legalities and funding implications).
